Some tips for enduring a long bout of unpaid ‘survival’. This invention, manuscripts and the website would not have come about if I had not been for the fact that my career went dormant around the summer of 2003. If you have found what I have done the least bit moving, consider some of these tips which I think are helpful in surviving a long period without professional compensation: a) Manage your resources as efficiently and effectively as you can.
b) Find support during the particularly challenging times, knowing there are people out there who can help.
c) Sustain and/or build relationships which will help you to get by.
d) Develop personal habits which contribute to a healthy lifestyle, do everything you can to maintain your dignity, stay organized and make time to laugh.
e) Find something that gives you a reason to get out of bed every morning, something that you are truly inspired by.
f) Plan on exerting far more effort than you ever imagined if attempting an endeavor such as this.
g) Plan on and for significant ‘obstacles’ from any and all entities which stand to lose from your public disclosures.
h) Don’t ‘burn bridges’ that you may need to rely on in the future.
i) Consider that there is a lot of merit to the saying that “it’s not so much what happens to you but how you respond to it” and a lot of truth in the idea that it is your perspective which makes all the difference.
j) Keep the faith and keep on keepin on!
Special acknowledgements include (but are not limited to and in no particular order): 1) My wife and family and friends and of course, the Good Lord. (MP4 video "Keepin On" 10 MB)
2) My little brother who has possibly been my greatest source of inspiration, Mark Henry Warner, born April 19th, 1968 and passed away May 18th, 1999. Rest in peace bro.
3) My father, Kenneth Alan Warner, born July 19th, 1939 and passed away November 7th, 2016. Thanks for all the invaluable life lessons dad, rest in peace.
